Terms & Conditions
These terms of use and associated policies referred to herein constitute Steer to Success’s terms and conditions (the “Terms”). The Terms create a legally binding contract between yourself and Steer to Success FZE LLC (“Steer to Success”, “we”, “us”, “our”). You are obliged to read the Terms carefully.
Steer to Success is an online self-study platform dedicated to making high-quality lessons and resources available to students in an accessible and affordable manner (the “Platform”). All materials are created and delivered by fully qualified teachers (unless explicitly stated otherwise). On occasion, experts in their fields who are not teachers may contribute to content if they add specific value, but this will be clearly communicated.
Steer to Success offers students the flexibility to (i) purchase monthly rolling subscriptions to course bundles or; (ii) purchase single courses, which they then have lifetime access to once purchased.
Steer to Success does not offer private tuition services or a ‘finding service’ to source tutors. On our ‘Partners’ page, you will find organisations we work with who offer these services, but any partner organisations are governed by their own terms and conditions, and there shall be no recourse to or liability of Steer to Success in this respect.
By ticking the box at the end of your account registration, you confirm and acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to all of the Terms and are bound by such Terms.
Subject and Scope
1.1. Steer to Success applications (“apps”), websites (“site(s)”) and associated services (excluding any third party associated services) provided by Steer to Success (“services”) (the “Services”) are owned and operated by Steer to Success.
1.2. Your use of the Services is governed by these Terms.
1.3. By using or accessing any portion of the Services, you agree to and accept the application of these Terms. Upon acceptance, you are deemed a user (“User”).
1.4. Steer to Success may, by notice at least seven (7) working days prior to the effective date of any such update, update these Terms. 1.5. If you opt not to agree to the update, you may not be able to continue to access or use Services from the effective date of the update.
Services and Rights
2.1. Steer to Success allows the User to access a selection of curated educational content relating to the British curriculum created and delivered by fully qualified British curriculum teachers (each a “Contributor”) (unless explicitly stated otherwise). On occasion, we may partner with experts in their field who are not teachers but can add value to your education. This will always be made explicitly clear to the User.
2.2. The scope of the Services you have access to is dependent upon your account type.
2.3 Steer to Success shall use commercially reasonable efforts to make the Services available to the Users twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week, except during any period maintenance reasonably performed by Steer to Success.
2.4 The Services are provided to you on a limited, non-exclusive, non-sublicensable, non-transferable basis. The Services are for your own private, personal, non-commercial use. It is expressly prohibited to utilise single-user accounts to deliver materials to groups or in schools. For schools or institutions interested in obtaining a licence to use our materials in classrooms or across an institution, please contact us via the contact form for schools or email us at hello@steertosuccess.co.uk. Unauthorised use of individual accounts for group delivery or within institutional settings constitutes a breach of these Terms and may result in the suspension or termination of your account and legal action if deemed necessary.
2.5. Steer to Success content, including but not limited to audio, designs, graphics, images, information, software, text, and other media, including their arrangement and selection, are the proprietary property of Steer to Success and/or its licensors (as applicable). You are not permitted under any circumstance to copy, display, distribute, download, post, republish, reproduce, sell, or transmit, in any form or by any means, in whole or in part, other than with the prior written consent of Steer to Success. Steer to Success reserves the right to seek the full range of legal remedies available against Users who breach this term.
2.6 “Steer to Success” and all other tradenames, service marks, graphics, and logos used in connection with the Services are trademarks or service marks of Steer to Success and their respective owners. Use or access of the Services does not grant you or provide you with a right or licence to reproduce or use Steer to Success trademarks, service marks, graphics, and logos. Some icons used within Steer to Success materials are sourced from www.flaticon.com and are subject to their respective attribution requirements, as applicable. Any unauthorised use of our content or the content licensed through third-party sources constitutes a breach of these Terms and may result in legal action.
2.7. By accessing or using the Services, you represent and warrant that your use is subject to and in accordance with these Terms.
2.8. Steer to Success reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any portion of the Services at any time without notice.
Account
3.1. Access and use of the Services requires the registration and creation of a User account (“Account”).
3.2. Account access is maintained via your email address in conjunction with a self-determined password.
3.3. Steer to Success requires that you secure the confidentiality of your login details and password and all related information pertaining to your Account.
3.4. You are obligated to provide up-to-date, complete, and correct information at all times as and when requested by Steer to Success.
3.5. To create an Account, you must be at least fourteen (14) years of age. If you are under fourteen (14) years of age, you may only create an Account with the consent of a guardian or parent. Steer to Success reserves the right to make the provision of the Services subject to verified proof of identity or consent of a guardian or parent.
3.6. More detailed Account terms are found in ‘Rules for Users.’
Payments and Subscriptions
4.1 Payment for the Services is made through Stripe (or any other similar service as notified by Steer to Success to the User from time to time). Rolling subscriptions can be cancelled directly through Stripe or through the dashboard link to the Stripe payment portal. In case of any such cancellation, Steer to Success shall not be liable to repay to a User any payment made to it prior to such cancellation.
4.2 The fees per course vary. Rolling subscriptions are billed on a monthly basis, and single-purchase courses are available with lifetime access once purchased.
Termination
5.1. The provision of the Services will commence at the time of Account registration and continue for an indefinite period on a rolling basis, with subscriptions renewing every month according to the subscription chosen by the user.
5.2. Users are free to terminate the Services at any time.
5.3 If users encounter any difficulties when attempting to terminate their subscription (as outlined in section 6.2), they should promptly contact us at hello@steertosuccess.co.uk with the subject line “Billing Support.” To ensure the termination request is processed in time, the email must be sent at least three (3) full working day before the next subscription renewal date. Upon receipt of a termination request detailing the issue, Steer to Success will take immediate action to freeze the User’s Account, ensuring that no further payments are processed until the matter is fully resolved.
5.4 To avoid incurring charges for the next subscription period, users must complete the termination process at least one full working day before the subscription’s automatic renewal date. Failure to do so may result in a charge for the subsequent period, for which Steer to Success will not be held responsible.
5.5 Users who delete their Account should be aware that all associated data and personal information will, to the extent practically possible, be permanently deleted and rendered irretrievable in line with our data protection commitments. This includes, but is not limited to, any progress, records, and personal information stored within the Account. Once deleted, Steer to Success does not retain any data from the Account, and users would need to provide new information should they choose to re-join in the future.
Complaints and Cancellations
6.1 Complaints must be raised via the contact form on our website.
6.2 Users with serious complaints who wish to cancel must first raise a complaint using the form, which will be addressed by Steer to Success, who will investigate and propose a resolution. If no resolution can be achieved, Steer to Success will provide a refund. However, the User should note that refunds will only be offered in the event of serious and irreconcilable difficulties (as the sole discretion of Steer to Success).
6.3 Steer to Success will not offer or be obliged to provide refunds where complaints are not first made via the contact form on the Steer to Success website.
Limitation on Types of Damages and Liability
7.1 Steer to Success is not liable or responsible for User damage claims. Steer to Success is only liable for damages arising from violations of its material contractual duties and damages arising from intentional or gross negligence/breach of duty by Steer to Success.
7.2 In the event of violations of material contractual duties, Steer to Success is only liable for the contractual and typically foreseeable damages if caused by negligence unless these damages arise from injury to health, body, or life.
Data Protection
8.1 Federal Decree No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data shall apply to any personal data provided by a User to Steer to Success (“Data”).
8.2 Steer to Success will use Data lawfully, fairly and in a transparent manner and shall limit any such Data to what is necessary in relation to the purpose for which it is processed.
Privacy
9.1 Your use of the Services is subject to Steer to Success’s Privacy Policy.
9.2 By using the Services, you consent to the terms of the Privacy Policy.
Safeguarding Policy
10.1 Steer to Success takes the protection of its students with the utmost seriousness. We have rigorous processes in place when selecting our Contributors, which include qualification verification, reference checks, and background checks to ensure the safety and suitability of all Contributors. In addition, all Contributors must adhere to the guidelines outlined in the ‘Terms for Contributors’ section, which further enforces our commitment to safeguarding and content quality. We invite any User with concerns regarding content or creators to contact us immediately at hello@steertosuccess.co.uk. Contributor Content and Rights
11.1 Contributors to Steer to Success retain full rights to all materials they create and host on the Platform. This includes the right to add, update, and remove courses at their discretion.
11.2 Steer to Success is not liable for any content provided by Contributor. Steer to Success does not issue refunds on behalf of any Contributor. If a Contributor chooses to remove a course (which they may do at their own discretion), that Contributor is responsible for issuing any necessary refunds to Users who purchased access (such refund to be agreed between that Contributor and each User accordingly).
11.3 If you have any concerns regarding the quality of courses, the removal of content, or any other issue related to a Contributor, your first course of action should be to contact the Contributor directly. If no resolution is reached, or the Contributor is unresponsive, you may contact Steer to Success at hello@steertosuccess.co.uk with the subject line “Contributor Issue,” and we will endeavour to support you in finding a suitable solution.
11.4 In cases where a Contributor’s content raises concerns or breaches any of our policies, Users should contact Steer to Success directly at hello@steertosuccess.co.uk without hesitation. We take such concerns seriously and will investigate promptly. For more detailed guidance, please refer to our ‘Terms for Contributors’ and ‘Safeguarding’ policies.
Miscellaneous
12.1 Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with all terms, policies, conditions, guidelines, and other information on the site concerning the site and/or the Services, constitute the entire agreement between you and Steer to Success with respect to the subject matter hereof and supersede any other agreements, discussions, correspondence, negotiations, promises, assurances, warranties, representations, arrangements, and understandings regarding the Services. You agree and acknowledge that you may not rely on, and shall receive no remedies in respect of, any statement, representation, promise, assurance, or warranty (whether made innocently or negligently) that is not set out in these Terms. Nothing in this section shall limit or exclude any liability for fraud.
12.2 Severability: If any provision of these Terms is or becomes invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid, legal, and enforceable. If such modification is not possible, the relevant provision shall be deemed deleted. Any modification or deletion of a provision shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remainder of these Terms, which shall remain in full force and effect.
12.3 Waiver: Any failure or delay by Steer to Success to enforce the strict performance of any provision of these Terms, or to exercise any right or remedy provided under these Terms or by law, shall not constitute a waiver of the right to subsequently enforce such provision or any other provision of these Terms, or to exercise any other right or remedy under these Terms, nor shall it prevent or restrict any further exercise of that or any other right or remedy. No single or partial exercise of any right or remedy provided under these Terms or by law shall prevent or restrict the further exercise of that or any other right or remedy.
12.4 Assignment: We may assign any of our rights and obligations under the Terms.
12.5 Third Party Rights: Except as expressly provided in these Terms, no person other than you and Steer to Success shall have any rights under Article 252 of UAE Federal Law No. 5 of 1985 regarding civil transactions to enforce or to enjoy the benefit of any provision of these Terms. Nothing expressed or mentioned in, or implied from, these Terms is intended or shall be construed to give any person other than you and Steer to Success any right, remedy, or claim under or in respect of these Terms. These Terms and all of the representations, warranties, covenants, conditions, and provisions hereof are intended to be and are for the sole and exclusive benefit of Steer to Success and you.
12.6 Rights and Remedies: Except as expressly provided in these Terms, the rights and remedies provided under these Terms are in addition to, and not exclusive of, any rights or remedies provided by law.
12.7 Governing Law: These Terms and any dispute or claim (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the use of the Services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law.
12.8 Jurisdiction: The courts of the Dubai International Financial Centre (the “DIFC”) shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the use of the Services (a “Dispute”). The Parties agree that the courts of the DIFC are the most appropriate and convenient courts to settle Disputes and accordingly no Party will argue to the contrary.
