Scope and Limitations of Safeguarding Efforts
While Steer to Success is dedicated to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of all children and young people who engage with our services, it is important to acknowledge the scope and limitations of our safeguarding efforts.
Scope of Safeguarding:
- Communication Boundaries: Our ability to safeguard is limited to the interactions and communications we have directly with students and their families. We rely on the accuracy of the information provided to us and the willingness of individuals to communicate openly and promptly about any concerns.
- External Collaboration: In situations where safeguarding concerns are raised, we collaborate with external entities such as schools and parents, but our role is advisory and supportive. We do not have the authority to intervene beyond these boundaries.
Limitations:
- Indirect Communication: We do not have direct oversight or control over students’ environments outside of our educational services. Safeguarding efforts are contingent upon the cooperation of students, parents, and schools.
- Geographical and Jurisdictional Constraints: As our services span multiple regions, including the UK and UAE, our safeguarding practices must comply with the respective legal frameworks, which may differ. This may impact how quickly and effectively we can act on certain concerns.
- Digital Limitations: While we implement robust online safety measures, we cannot fully monitor all digital interactions that occur outside of our platforms. We advise parents and guardians to maintain active supervision of their children’s online activities.
- Non-Monitoring of Social Media: As previously stated, our social media channels are not monitored for safeguarding issues. It is the responsibility of the user to ensure that serious concerns are communicated through the appropriate, monitored channels.
Steer to Success strives to create a safe and supportive environment for all users, but it is crucial to recognise these limitations. By understanding the scope of our capabilities, users can more effectively collaborate with us to ensure the safety and well-being of children and young people.
Privacy Policy and Safeguarding
- Refer to our Privacy Policy for detailed information on how we handle and store data related to safeguarding concerns. We are committed to ensuring that all information is processed in compliance with data protection laws.

Responding to Safeguarding Concerns

- When safeguarding concerns arise, we follow a clear procedure to ensure the matter is handled appropriately and in the best interest of the child or young person involved.
