About the Founder
First of all, welcome and thank you for your interest in our platform. We are excited to support you on your journey to success!
My name is Ruth Brewer and I am the founder of Steer to Success Education. With over 12 years of experience working in the education sector, I am a fully-qualified English teacher and hold a degree in English literature as well as a PGCE and QTS.
I founded Steer to Success in response to seeing a growing number of creators without teaching or higher education qualifications selling services to students, promising unrealistic grades, and providing inaccurate information. This not only increased students’ anxiety but also failed to provide the support they truly needed. I wanted to create an accessible, inclusive, and affordable platform where students could receive guidance from fully-qualified experts, ensuring that educational integrity was maintained. Importantly, I also wanted to ensure the focus wasn’t solely on achieving top grades, recognising that success looks different for each student, and the pressure to meet unrealistic goals can be harmful.
Education with Purpose – Not Just Profit
At Steer to Success, we believe education should be a right, not just a business. That’s why we offer free resources and access for Pupil Premium and resit students, ensuring that learning remains accessible to all, not just those who can afford it.
We also believe that while online platforms and AI are valuable tools for learners, they should complement – not replace – human insight. The ability to analyse, interpret, and think critically about a text is a skill that only you can develop. Our goal is to support you in mastering these essential skills, ensuring they serve you far beyond the classroom and throughout life.
